Spring 2024 season write-up:

Congratulations to Myron Bahryjczuk, Cornell Benally, Noel Plana & Michael Keeto of Shake, Rack & Run out of Mills Modern Social on Wednesday nights! They are the #1 ranked team heading into the 60^th AZPL State Championships! They went 13-1 with 1,110 points and 94 wins with Noel leading the way with a 5.782PR, 374 points and 32 wins! Chris Navas, Steve Key & Brandon Warren of the Shadow Wizard Money Gang from the Wednesday 2 Lanes In-House division are the No-Handicap league leaders going 13-1, 1,060 points and 81 wins with Steve ‘Cubbie’ Key leading the way with a 4.649 PR, 365 points, 29 wins and a 26.07 match average!

Congratulations to Ramona Seabaugh of the Dawgs and Mike Sandoval of Ohhh Those Guys! They are your AZPL State MVPs! Ramona led the ladies with 25 wins and 3 30s while scoring 336 points for a 3.020 power rating to lead the ladies while Mike went 36-6 with 398 points, 9 30s, 2 8-ball breaks, 8 10-0s and a 28.43 MA for a power rating of 8.379 leading the league in all of those categories!

Congratulations to all of the division MVPs: Monday Flagstaff Traveling - Reynalda Cody & Nate Korey, Monday Daddy Os In-House - Jamie Hyde & James Money, Tuesday Globe Traveling - Mindy Teague & Chris Navas, Tuesday Phoenix Traveling - Leslie Moses & Joe Czenk, Wednesday Mill's Modern Social In-House - Nini Padilla & Noel Plana, Wednesday MMS No Handicap In-House - Andy Benavidez, Wednesday 2 Lanes - Samantha King & Steve Key, Thursday Dozer's In-House - Nini Padilla & Tony Barnes, Sunday Mill's Modern Social In-House - Laura Boothroyd and Sunday MMS No Handicap In-House - Steff Moreno & Jim Rigney! Jamie & Ron are also the top rookies in the state!

Ramona and Mike were also the Multi-Team MVPs with Ramona playing on Wednesday and Sunday while Mike played in both Sunday divisions! Mike went 63-21 with 731 points, 14 30s, 13 10-0s, 5 break & runs and 3 8-ball breaks while shooting 26.11 for a 12.390 power rating and Ramona went 43-41 with 619 points scored and 4 30s shooting 22.11!

Congratulations to the league’s most improved shooters Shannonlynn Chester of the Pooligans on Thursday in Flagstaff and Dylan Van Eseltine of Show Us the Money on Monday at Daddy O’s! Shannon shot a 24 this season, 5.29 points over her career average of 18.71! Dylan shot 24.50 on Monday nights, an improvement of 3.31!

Laura Boothroyd led the ladies with a 24.91 match average.  Colleen Ashley led the ladies with 340 points scored and tying with 3 30s. Jamie Hyde also picked up 3 30s! Ryan Levengood had 5 break & runs to lead the league.

Thursday Night – Scotch Doubles/Singles Tournament at Dozer's Grill in Mesa

8-Ball Scotch Doubles/Singles Tournament – 7:00pm, sign up starts at 6pm (1)

It’s a race to the 8 every round both sides! Double-Elimination! Blind Draw! $10 entry! Limited to 64 players!

Friday Night – FIVE EVENTS TO PLAY IN!

Wild Card Challenge - 6pm (1)

To win the Wild Card Tournament and become the final team in the State Championships you must go undefeated in a single-elimination team tournament that starts at 6pm on Friday.  It's still 3 on 3 but it's a race to 3 wins!  Whichever team wins 3 games advances!  Final 2 teams play a full 9-game match for the final spot in the tournament! 

Singles Tournament - 7:00pm, sign up starts at 6pm! (2)

It's a race to the 8 in every round. $10 entry!  Limit 32 players!

8-Ball Break & Run Derby - 7:00pm, sign up starts at 6pm!  (3)

Players compete by breaking & running out the table!  Every player racks their own.  You get one freebie shot on the break meaning you don't have to make one on the break to continue shooting.  However, if you scratch your turn is over with 0. An 8-ball break counts as 20 points.  After that every ball you make counts as a point.  It doesn't matter what you shoot at - be it solids or stripes - as long as the 8-ball is the last ball.  Once you successfully make the 8 you'll re-rack the balls and break.  You MUST make a ball on this break to continue shooting.  Once you miss a shot your turn is over.    There are 3 ways to become eligible for this event:   Be in the Top 3 league leaders for 8 ball breaks or Break & Runs!!  Be the league leader for 10-0s!  Buy your way in!  $10 entry!

9-Ball/10-Ball Tournament - 7:00pm, sign up starts at 6pm!  (4)

10-Ball on the winners side, 9-Ball on the losers side - $10 entry Limit 32 players!

Ladies 8-Ball Singles on the 7s! – 7:00pm, sign up starts at 6pm!  (5)

The women of the AZPL compete to see who’s the best! 32-player limit, $10 entry!
